Before
applying to register trademarks, we encourage you to have a
trademark search conducted. All government departments around the
world, including Australia, take many months to examine
applications and return the results. By having a search conducted
you will have an indication as to the likelihood of your trademark
being registered in a matter of only a couple of days.
Using our
'budget service', your search will be conducted via the government
trademarks database. We will provide you with a report showing a
brief summary on our findings along with recommendations as to the
classes you should consider.
You can
conduct your own 'free trademark search' using the registered
trademark database, made available by the trademark government
office. However, without the necessary experience it is often
difficult to obtain accurate results.
We know
of many cases where individuals have conducted their own searches,
believed their name or logo to be 'available' and then received
adverse reports from the Trademarks Office stating that similar
marks exist and essentially 'rejecting' their trademark
applications.
